Phantom of the Ghoema

I watched Kyle's trio playing last night... WOW! I wasn't expecting such a mature and complex sound from such a young composer and performers, he's so creative and he has a prodigious imagination, I enjoyed it thouroghly, I was transported to other dimensions...standing ovation. Their set up and to a certain extent their sound reminds me of EST (Ebjorn Svensson -rip- Trio), they also fluctuate between that intimate, delicate, soft touch that draws the crowd in and the the raw thumping energy that makes everyone sit upright in their chair (there's also the piano plucking that Ebjorn did). Cape Town has one more great jazz man and band.
