Urban Goddess

Urban Goddess

Sometimes, on our PhotoWalks,

We don't walk.

Like yesterday.

We got together with some gorgeous models, beautifully styled and made up,

Clothed in Urban Goddess.

Yep ... 'struth.

  1. Palapala

    A nice shot

  2. Jeff Rikhotso

That look. I like the surrounding, so green, so bokeh

  3. Oriel

    lovely shot!

  4. Maritha

Stunning - I love the way the light falls on her skin

  5. Buchu

Beautiful woman and expertly shot (as always Daz),
but something about this just says
"Truworths" or "Top Billing Magazine" to me,
just doesnt appeal to my sensibilities

  6. Kamogelo Mogashoa

    Lovely portrait i like!

@Buchu: Interesting, isn't it ... what appeals and what doesn't. Images I think might get some <3, don't ... and those that I least expect to resonate with people, sometimes do. Appreciate your comments though ...

When I thought about it more, I think my stance comes mostly from the
subject: her pose, her gaze, quite focused, looking at something off camera.
She seems like the strong successful woman at the cocktail party that a lot of woman magazines' readers aspire to be. I don't know if I'm making sense?

Me Lebogang always talk about how the pictures we put up that we think are really <3 worthy often get no <3 !!! Everyone has their own eye I guess...

@Buchu: "Everyone has their own eye I guess ..." True. I see this best when the JhbPhotoWalkers share shots of the same walks we do, and *every-one* has a different take on things. We *all* see the world through different eyes ... our own. Which is why I always enjoy seeing the world through other people's eyes on 75.co.za ...
I find myself looking at images here on 75, with a few thoughts in mind ...
1 Does the image *grab* me! Immediately.
2 If so, is it the colour, the story, the composition, the treatment.
3 If not (ie: it doesn't grab me immediately), is the shot technically good ... worthy of <3 ...
Its a funny thing photography. Some technically outstanding images, are boring ... and some technically poor images are riveting .... they capture the *moment* which is what all good photography strives to do. And today, with more and more cellphones capturing the *moment* (more often than not, in a technically meh way) ... people's expectations of what to <3 and why, is changing.
    I'm waffling ... #asyouwere
