Africa has the most surprising little beaches slap bang in the middle of the continent. I say surprising because [a] we're not famed for our beaches and [b] these are not coastline beaches; but inland. I'm facinated with the tactile quality of beach sand -- this beach was unbelievable. Outside of the coarse quality of the sand; it had this amazing shimmer, the grains were littered with golden grains. The picture doesn't quite capture it; but you can imagine.
