I recently went for a morning run, while I was out on the farm.
Decided to take my camera along, think I'll do this more often.
Usually I run the gravel along the ploughing fields, however that morning, My route followed Eskom's pylons for about 7km across grassland, ploughing, village and wetland.
The following was written after the taking the photograph from under a pylon.
Structures
Now over these plains and grasslands, they have built the upright structure.
The trails of wire;
Pylons, those pillars Bare like nude giant girls that have no secret.
The spring grassland with its gilt and morning look
And the green growing grass
Of customary root,
Are mocked by the dew in the morning like the parched oasis.
But far above and far as sight endures
Like whips of anger
With lightning's danger
There runs the quick perspective of the future.
This dwarfs our emerald country by its trek
So tall with prophecy:
Dreaming of cities, town and villages
Where often clouds shall lean their ostrich neck
By Galefele Molema.
