All, I meant to say, was --- what people (especially those in IT) call a 'crash' is not truly a crash --- in most cases in means the operating system (e.g. windows xp) fails(or failed to boot) --- that probably means your photos/music/personal files are still there in the hard drive --- and you can recover.
What most people do at this stage is 're-install' their OS with a complete wipe out of data --- which is not a smart thing to do ---
BUT, if your had drive failed --- then that might have messed you up --- but I'm sure there are 'data recovery' specialist you can look up with your fingers (yellow pages).

true that Bareng, as a kid i hated visiting my aunts then having to collect these so she can renew her walls. my gran as a kid looked after her dads cows n in winter she wud dip her feet in the dung as soon as it falls to warm her feet. she is the strongest woman on this earth.
