The only way was through the window. I think it saw me behind it's reflection and was lulled into a false sense of safety. The closer I got to it though, the more suspiciously it looked in my direction.

It may have been hurting too much to run away... one leg was tagged (whiched caused it to limp & stand on one leg), and the one that you see had a toe missing.

What do you make of this excerpt from Tom Lehrer's Poisoning Pigeons in the Park?
