Abandonment

Abandonment

I don't know much about birds, eggs and the like, so hope this little chick was hatched rather than eaten. In many ways it represents how I feel about SA at the moment - a great opportunity beng squandered.

On the upside, there was a small plant sprouting out of this impossible heap of ostensibly dead coal. We live in hope.

Barnardinho....I think it hatched,if it didn't,the shell would have been cracked or disfigured badly....!
As for our country,I do not know how we can salvage it from the hands of greed, corruption, political slundering, violance and lack of patrionism from some of our fellow citezens...!!!
Not leaving arrogance and ignorance, lies and deceit from the Gov and opposing parties...!
    :-(
A lot of has "hatched",refer to the World Cup Success......and a whole lot has been devoured by all the bad influence we see and read about...!
    :-(

I like the symbolism - very cool shot.

Thanks Diaan - my photography is more visual than cerebral, but this one certainly works at that level.

Love the angle on this one..

My biggest joy with photographing dead places like the gas works is finding all the ways life is finding a way around the decay.

Life, as they say, will always find a way.
