Do you know this woman?

I found this picture on a CD made from a 35mm spool I had Orms develope and scan. However it was clear that the pics weren't mine (my pics were colour and 35mm and these were BnW medium format) I'm still not sure whose pics these are, I told them about the mistake, but don't think they did anything about it, or told her. If you know her, let me know.

Is this wrong to upload it?

Same thing happened to me: http://sinah.org/2005/06/30

Nothing wrong with the upload — I guess the SAPS would call it (being that it's social media is all the hype): Social Policing.

    LOL!

    interesting.
    but
personally, if I stumbled across an image I took that was posted on the interwebs somewhere without my permission, I would feel uncomfortable.
    but then again
i don't enjoy being the subject of someone else's narrative, and don't like my work to be the subject of someone else's narrative either
    hmm
    thoughts...
you own the prints/the developed negatives
    because you paid for them
but you don't own the rights to the photograph...
so do you have the right to post it up here?

Although I've disagreed with posts of other people's images before, strangely enough this one doesn't make me uncomfortable, it was an accident and it's an honest narrative. What makes me uncomfortable is when someone searches for other people's images and posts them in a rather disconnected and cold way. What defines your choice? Why that image and not another one? Are you creating anything? Is there a narrative? Is it only for aesthetic reasons? What are your feelings about it?
I don't think Buchu's post tries to make it an artistic object as such, it's a provocation but it's based on a real question and gives me the impression that he is also curious to find out more about this person.
If it would've happened to me, I might've felt uncomfortable at first but maybe I would look at it as a random event that crossed the paths between two people that would never know about each others existences if it wasn't for Orms making this blunder.
But then again, what made you choose this image and not another one?

    Hello lady! Cool story. :)

Grey areas make for great discussion

    I love this comment:
"but maybe I would look at it as a random event that crossed the paths between two people that would never know about each others existences if it wasn't for Orms making this blunder." -UNO. Thats exactly how I feel about it, like a happy mistake. Not for her maybe?

I chose this image because its the only photograph out of three with a clear subject in the frame. I will upload the rest as well. Might as well!
