    I know those cars, I think Lada is a Russian (car maker) brand. I have a friend who is obsessed with them especially the Lada Niva

    They are pretty cool cars. I got into one in Addis and there were no working seatbelts.
    The driver said "Don't worry, this is an African car"
    I was like "Africans need to be safe too!"

    We used to have our fair amount of Ladas in Moz too, we now have a lot of luxury 4x4s and Mercedes. There are still a few russian cars around but most have given in, they'll probably all end up on that scrapyard, quite an analogy of communism in Africa...
