The Parlotones - Unplugged

The Parlotones - Unplugged

On Saturday morning, I went to Cresta shopping centre. To watch The Parlotones. Unplugged. The way all good music touches the soul. Live. Remind me of Indie band The Smiths. It was as much for the opportunity to take a few unplugged pics, as it was to hear the music. But what I heard, was good ...

I heard them for the first time on TV last week (unplugged), I was very disappointed, they act more than they play, which is a polite way of saying they don't play much. They are a superficial pastiche of their international influences. They lack soul and depth, and as much as they try to bring a South African sound to their set up it always feels forced and clumsy. Sorry Daz, that's just my opinion. Great photo though...

@UP: Appreciate the feedback. I'm no good at musical critiques really. I have an eclectic and diverse taste in music. And for the most part, its more about the experience, the moment, the people, the atmosphere. I'd be careful in letting TV recreate that 'soul & depth' ...
But you're right in many ways, The Parlotones are a mix of Indie rock pop influences ... which can be radio friendly, but can lack weight.
I wouldn't describe myself as a 'fan' ... but I enjoyed the 'moment' ... which is always a good thing.

They give amazing pictures. If you ask me there are two types of music, good music and bad music they fall more towards the good side.
