Towards the end of our Sat evening JhbPhotoWalk, this one in Melville, I came across these guys at their restaurant, which hadn't yet opened.
I've been enjoying a book by Joe McNally called Hot Shoe Diaries, which is all flash orientated photography. Brilliant to read. Daunting to try.
But try we did. I had a fellow 'grapher duck behind the swing doors, holding a wireless remote flash up so that my camera's 'commander' flash could trigger the remote SB600. I exposed for the ambient light which meant the shutter speed was sloooow ... but the colours and warmth came through.
And bang. We fired. Geez ... and it worked. Ecstatic! Chuffed! You learn something everytime you shoot!
