Portrait of a boy

Portrait of a boy

This week-end (Wed-Sat) I was in Venda.

The King inaugurated 2 chiefs (the first on Fri, the second on Sat).

The festivities, dancing and speeches went on all day.

And people from villages all around came through to pay their respects.

So much colour. So many smiles.

So many photo opportunities.

Are you based in Limpopo? Mr Daz?

  2. Daz

@George: No. I'm Jozi based. I was a guest of a researcher, covering the Tshivhase dynasty, so was invited to meet King Kennedy Tshivhase and to take pics of the inauguration of 2 chiefs. Fantastic few days in and around Thohoyandou. Back in Jozi now, editing pics from the trip.

I love the way you take images, how you tell your stories, i can see that you love what you do . *bow

    well captured.

    King Kennedy Tshivhase you say?
you must have had quite an experience on the weekend.
if only i knew you was heading over there, maybe i wouldn't have changed my mind about going. maybe i would have shown you around a lil.

    can't wait to see more.

@George: I surely do. *love* what I do. Thank you.

@Khumbelo: Yea, it was a brilliant experience. We had full access, and were warmly embraced. Met and spent time with a couple of University of Venda students, who gave me an urban/rural take on things. Lunched with Kennedy Tshivhase ... chatting to a few interesting businessmen who happen to be from the Tshivhase royal family.
    Eye-opening. Next time ... I'll need some showing around ... ..
