Yesterday there was a sun halo in Jozi.
Nope the world didn't end. The aliens didn't pitch. But it was pretty cool. In all my years, it was a first for me. (Here's an explanation: http://bit.ly/bNExpb).
I wanted to try something different, so this is a collage of the same (original) shot 'developed' through different film emulsions (including negatives).
And you thought that there was something such as the 'right' treatment!

I've actually seen quite a number of halos like this around the sun, mostly in countries in the northern hemisphere where there are lots of ice particles in atmosphere.
