Zulu wedding dance...

I'm not sure what the significance of the knife is in this dance. But I thought it quite interesting...should ask somebody about it.

......this is what you are leading yourself into, fend yourself whilst still can..... hehehe. Just I am sure it is just an innocent gesture.

    Err...

There's a saying ka sepedi: "mosadi o tshwara thipa ka bogaleng..."

I'm dunno exactly what it means or if tis' related to what's happening in the above picture.

I'm currently reading a book about Southern African Cult religions,From shembe to amapostoli to bazalwani quite interensting book, on point 2 ...

All I've to say is colonialism has got us and we will never escape ... a bit that wat this pic means to me ... To an extend were our cultures we call ours but in true fact we are practising rituals that the missionaries created to channel us ... e.g Wearing of black clothing when someone of your relative has died ... white weddings ... SICK ... unconciously we practice!

I just wish as individuals we can seek some truth and try n channel our future in something totally AFRIkAN ... na mean ... I know we cant change what happened ... but A wise man said ... "If you want change ... You have to be the change ... everything will follow" Mr Ghandi himself ...

    Mosadi o tshwara thipa bogaleng.

That means, no ma kanjani a woman will find a way to feed/survive her family. Very powerfull thing, considering that we (black men) have a tendancy of 'disappearing' and not taking care of our seeds.

I think it's also related to, 'Mosadi o nya le mariga'. Funny pharse but almost means the same.

Well that is my Matric SeTswana HG for you, where I got a D as my final mark.

I stand corrected, Heartwamer am I right?

    ba'thathe Noid...

I agree with you... and many others. However, one has acknowledge that religion [eg. Christianity] was the catalyst to the success of the European bullies... the question how many people today are willing re-access religion they so-believe in and search for their Afrikan ways... this makes your task even harder...

Bruce Willis in a movie said, "God left Africa a long time ago"... I thought he should know cause they think they brought Him here... but in truth He was here long before, just he was not packaged in Christianity... didn't use missionaries as sales agents... that said, people believe that they need to believe in something... [my view hope I didn't offend anyone]

Noid systems where can I get this book? Do you know if there is a similar one about other African cultures.....it would be interesting to see how alike we all are.....perhaps then we can begin to unite and reclaim our Africaness in it's true form.....but I hear Bafana, religion and of course technology could be HUGE hurdles to overcome.....

I like your quote.....I would love to be change ; )
