TravellingMan - RoadTrip Blantyre [5]

I love Churches -- it's the architecture that's most facinating. Everything is build to capture the attention of the faithful from the minute they hit the steps.

They've mastered the art of manipulating "feeling". The world over --

This is the St. Michael and All Angels Church in Blantyre. It was built between 1888 and 1891 in the tradition of the Gothic Churches being built all through Europe about the same time. What's really impressive is that they built it withouht the tools to ensure proper measurements -- but the accuracy is amazing!

From what I could tell, they had the roof covered in that material they use to cover flat roofs -- to prevent leakage -- except it was silver.
Came out that way because that was it just catching the light.
To be honest, these Marawi images were such a disappointment -- the light was atrocious!
