This is really good, I've been loving these kinds of compositions lately, with few elements floating in space...

Yea. Low key as low key should be done. I'm intrigued by how his face is nicely lit, but elsewhere is wholly underexposed. How'd you nail this shot, Jeff?
Jeff...you are the master of hip-hop portraits man. Wow...inspired !
@ Daz, im sure pro's have a smarter formula or approach of doing this sorta stuff...if i remember well this is what i did as an experiment till i nailed a few like this.
I started with my mounted flash off for this shot, which left my subject a little underexposed, so i lit my flash and pointed it away from the subject, almost above his head, say you start your flash at 90 degrees and adjust it till you only get the part u want lit and the rest will remain underexposed. It helped because this dude was wearing a black Tee on top of the white and black pants, which was the trick i believe.
Oh and we were at The Woods, The environment was quite dark which helped a lot, especially since i avoided the minimal available light there was.
If i am not mistaken this is how.
Exposure: 1/8
Aperture: f6.3
ISO: about 100
Focal Length: about 35mm
Exposure Bias: Don remember
Oh and for any part you wish to enhance, there is Photoshop and Lightroom, such as brightening the face a bit to get that contrast you want.
i like the action in the shot
