Rules guide almost each and every element of our existance...we co-exist and find harmony when there r rules,signs and regulations.
Sadly when rules are applied to creativity, it becomes very fatal....we tend to become garbage bins...where we recyle everything we do, follow, rather innovate.

I think they work well together, although I would have had the man placed on the left of the frame so that he's walking 'into' the black space.

i like this, if nothing else for its simplicity. and it feels like a stencil piece, i like it when photography does that, feels like other mediums

I like this shot ... but I would've moved the little green guy to the right, to play on the 'lead' don't 'follow' thinking of the shot. That would break a few of the rules Jeff's talking about. I like it's simplicity. Sometimes we look, but we don't see ...
