kids playing on a merry-go-round at sunset on the promenade

picture taken just before the kid in the knee high jeans fell off. she tried to get off while the merry-go-round was in full motion. intersting that the kids are all of different races, Langston Hughes has a famous poem called "Merry go round" the first line reads: "Where is the Jim Crow section On this merry-go-round, Mister, cause I want to ride?"

i thought that was interesting

juxtapose...i thought i need to be more open-minded because when i 1st opened this pic, 1st thing came to my mind was the diversity on the merry-go-round. (perhaps i brought my own past experiences from mzansi on the merry-go-round)..but yeah, thanks for the story. doesnt make me feel too bad about noticing race first. but i still need to slow down on that. get free-er.

the kids look happy. thats what counts. and this pic is super ill.

it is what it is, race is our constant refrain.

Love the pic. Reminds me of the days spent as a kid in Centenary Park, Bulawayo. We'd play on the roundabouts ... just like this one.

That was a LONG time ago!
