What is especially eye catching, is how that wing becomes an extension of the branch. It effectively gives it an ending, but at the same time, hides the 'real' end of the branch, suggesting an incompleteness. With only one wing the bird cannot fly, similarly we cannot conclude the 'truest' length of that branch. Like the bird that cannot fly, our attention is arested, poised to go nowhere. We cannot esape the suggestions.
