What interesting 'bout your analogy is this: there is 52 cards in a deck of cards; there is 6 sides to dice;
So somehow, to extend your metaphor, we might not know what will be dealt, but we know what are the options; with cards, only 52 possible outcomes; with dice, only 6 outcomes.
