Chanelle

Chanelle

Hi All

I did an fashion shoot this past weekend for an upcoming local pop up store. Now i'm trying a new editing technique but i'm not quite sure how appealing it might be to an everyday Joe. Did some spot removals, Iris inhencement, softened up her skin, touch ups on the blacks and reduced the contrast of the overall graph(a technique i've seen being used alot lately in fashion). I have till friday to handover the final product so there for need your 2c on this one before end of the week.

Please let me know you think, any advice, comment or technique is welcomed. Thanks :-}

    Nice portrait

    Her face is blurred [it might not look like it but it is - her face should be crisp as the hair is], the crop makes her bust looks funny for some reason. The aim of any fashion shoots is to exhibit the clothes the model comes after or come as a bonus. My 2c over and out ...

    This would be cool for something else though because the focal point is her face.

    I'd say ask Diaan — he done do some serious work on 'post-production' of people.

    Alas, my 2¢ is: sharper face, it appears blurred (out of focus); for fashion, I'd think the sharper the crisper the shot the more 'focus' it brings to the product being sold.

    Does look like they were going for that old school feel.....My 1cent worth of what what..!
    EyeLike....beautiful face...!!!
    @Lebo: MUST I BEHAVE AGAIN......this one is not blowing kisses riiiiight....?????

    @George @LN Thanks, noted. I also forgot to mention that they also do makeup, so this one was the one i was going to use to see the makeup better. I have a full body graph where the clothes are fully visible, i uploaded this one here so you guys can see the edit better.

    @Sthe they going for that new age/colour block style

    Lets hope Diaan comments. Is there a way to ask him directly on 75?

  6. lebogang nkoane

    I asked him on his latest 'graph.

    There is a contact thing magic that doesn't work very well, but sometimes it works.

    *look for a comment he made (I know there should be a better way) — under his avatar you'll see a plus sign (+) add him as a contact, then the rest should take care of itself, I hope.

    Heyhey. I agree about her soft face. If the whole image was that soft it wouldn't have been a problem, soft can be good too, but because there's sharpness on her hair it kinda looks like your focus was a bit to the back - which might actually be the case.

    Do you have some similar shots to this one where the focus is sharp on her face?

    Ps. I find focussing on the eyes and shooting with an aperture/distance combo that gives about 5 - 7cm deep DOF works best. On my 50mm that's about f/2.2 - f/3.2 at 1m on a full-frame sensor.

  8. Diaan

    PS. Nice photo though, and what a woman!

  9. lebogang nkoane

    Indeed. She banging.

    When I was young, I had the belief that all Chanelle's and Chantels were banging — I am yet to be proven wrong — oh, I'd rather not be proven wrong though, old habits are hard to kill.

    Haahahahahahaha!!!!!

    @LN Thanks Alot :-}

    @Diaan unfortunately this is the only shot i have, i have sharper ones from other models from the show. This is a shot from the ramp they were modeling on, they wanted me to get shots of the clothes(full body) and portraits for the makeup. I think trying to zoom in and out while the models were coming fast and furious threw me off a little, something i need to learn to perfect soon. I'll try use the brush tool on Lightroom and see if i can't sharpen up the face.

    Thanks for the input, and yes Chanelle is one hell of a woman *wipes sweat off forehead* lol

    @LN sit down please lol

    Good work though, very few picture are technically correct. I think as long as gets the message across...

  13. Lebo Shmoove

    Thanks sfiso :-}

  14. Khumbelo

    indeed she banging!

    Due to lack of knowledge when it comes to these kinda shots I'll have to agree with y'all, a bit more sharper detail on her face would be nice.

    and yeh, i think it's best to get the technical stuff right so you won't have to suffer too much in post, though it might need you to practice more.
