I've been thinking, what is the role of photography --- why do it? or rather why do we do it? What is the inherent good (in the utilitarian sense of the word)?
Does it matter what you capture? Is it important for self? or is selfish? Is it important that it is seen? Is it important to capture that 'moment' in time? Are we recording history? or are we recording our lives? Is it for memory? or is it for ego?

the truth is that its all of the above. yes we are documenting history n sharing it while on the other hand its selfish coz ur doing it for urself to a certain extent. whether it be memory or history, photography is beautiful. a picture is worth more than a thousands words.

Each day we share on 75... therefore:
it becomes an extension of self
we sell-fish to those who can't fish
we expose history (overly and the underbelly)
we extend time through moments captured in time
we take others on journeys we've been on
we extend our cranial memory cards
So is it important that it be seen? Well, if it isn't then that's tantamount to abortion*
Is it about ego? Well, the validation makes each one of us feel good... that can't be bad**
It's like a behind the scenes doccumentation of life...
