I am an advocate for Open Source Software (OSS) --- but that does not mean I think 'commercial' software is not good --- My biggest problem with 'free/open' software is that in most cases the 'user interface' (UI) is not top notch.
As I was introducing photoshop to my students yesterday I realised I repeat the same thing over and over again --- if you are to pay 20-30 grand for a piece of software, it means those people (the company that made it) have invested a lot of time and money to making it work, especially for a creative person.
Anywhoo --- yesterday I stumble apon Adobe Photoshop Lightroom --- holy ish! --- its what I have been looking for --- considering I am now a professional photorapher (graduated on grounds of maturity) --- Lightroom beats using Adobe Photoshp Camera Raw 'pseudo app'.
I am happy, well at least untill the 'trial period of 30 days' comes to an end.
ps: If you squint and look to the right: that window is the window to my penthouse, ;-)
