Lebolelamading (HIV/AIDS)

Lebolelamading (HIV/AIDS)

So, it turns out my aunt (Mmane Shirley) is a SeTswana language-something-something --- she writes(teaches/documents) SeTswana books and she gave a list of SeTswana words for the 'new' English words.

That word, Lebolelamading is derived from a few words: lebolela (sting of a bee) + bola (rots) + mading (blood) .

I'll give you more as I learn some.

1ove, native tongues.

i always find it intrestin how HIV/AIDS and other words end up with these type of translations. like 'kwatsi ea bosolla tlhapi' (hiv/aids)

    btw - dope pic

Seilatsatsi --- true, but i suppose it's easier to understand what 'something means' when the words describe the thing itself, huh?

I'll ask my Aunt why the words are such.

  12. seilatsatsi

tru, i cant imagine there being a direct translation for "acquired immune deficiency syndrome" in our indegenous languages. but then again i stand to be corrected

becoz of the construction of this stupid train that wont be done in time for the world cup, we aint got water at work. now forget the toilets, i need my daily dose of coffee.

the worse thing is that this might be a daily thing for the nex couple of months.
