Hello,
… learn to argue: an argument is not an opinion.”
1ove, learns.
isn't an argument the [space] where different opinions/positions crash into one another?
listen. absorb. dissect. integrate. rebuttal.
That's my interpretation of an argument. It's to persuade the opponent or be persuaded. It is also to be open to new dispositions that disqualify your own. It is a teaching experience or a learning experience, most of the time it is both.
@ nappy: to persuade, yes. but also to represent.
represent.
peace.
Facts are:
· Exact, specific
· Things that have taken place
· Things that can be investigated and found to be true
Opinions are:
· Conclusions, views, thoughts or feelings
· Are not exact and they are not proven
· Vague/unclear statements about the past, present or future
Arguments are:
· Reasons given to support or reject a view one has
· Explanations that indicate why an event has, is or will happen
· Attempts to prove something by using reasons, evidence and facts as support
I think, I have a view, a feeling - opinion
It has a reason and so I explain it - argument
If it can be found true it will become a fact until (if) proven a lie.
Many accepted facts in the past, although wrong, have been built on the assumption that they were true, the sun going around the earth, the earth being flat, etc. but the argument went on and more facts built and will continue on building new truths.
As such I believe in the voicing of opinions, even if it's just a gut feeling, as long as they can evolve into arguments and as long as they are constructive in helping to develop our inner potential.
Your arguments on friday were destructive and immature. Learn to argue...
