pastoral scene of the gallant south*

this is not the original story i put up. shuldve been a comment, but...

1stly, nothing was done to this pic (except scanning) for any purposes. i was waiting for a lift after having been at the kid's parent's house almost all day and waited in the lady's room. this kid was so attached to the lady that she adamantly refused to go into the main house at nighttime. she spoke setswana and was singing a song for me when i took these images for her. very cute. however tragic the background of this pic is, and i admit that it makes me sad in many ways, this lady and little girl had formed a beautiful bond. and thats the least one can ask for when looking at our history. atleast thats what i walked away with after hearing the songs, seeing the love, and still being uncomfortable about the lady's living quarters...and her uniform.

I'll admit, this image is pretty scary. The way her face has been blown out (to make it harsher) and the ladies face made darker, gives a dark meaning to the image (well in my eyes at least)

Not saying it's bad, totally the opposite actually, but a very strong meaning behind the image.

Beautiful Image Makhaya, from their common hand gesture to the light differentiation (and I don’t mean their skin tone). It’s as if she instructing the lil one to say "Cheese". Just Beautiful!

Images speak different languages to different ppl! This image speaks the language of Love!

you're right stix. it's amazing this bond that develops between ngwana oa madam le Ausi oa teng. too precious. enviable really. for those who don't get to see their mothers often.

it's symbiotic. they both need it. we all need it. lerato.
