LOL @ Lebogang... Shellington. #hides
Good one Lebogang, funny shit.
Well, it's like this. I had sworn to not touch my camera until I submit my thesis, but I applied for a job that required a photo. I took this one. Figured that I may as well upload it, seeing that I hadn't uploaded in ages. Didn't even have a good look at it. In retrospect I do look like a nerd, haha. So what. How did LN find out about Girl6765? Hahaha. Anyways. I've taken it down and replaced it with the real me. Hope you enjoy.
Nerds unite!
… but this ain't a photograph. :(
*sigh
Depends on how you define a 'graph.
light being the source."
alas — i just had lunch, metaphysics on a full stomach is not recommended.
liberté toujours.
Dilated Yoda?
i love the lines, lol!
Previously a photograph would have had to be taken by a camera, processed and developed. Only once developed could one call it a photograph. With the digitisation of stuff, it is possible to call it a photograph in the absense of the physical print. I have taken the next step. This is a photograph that was taken in the absense of both a camera and a print. I am a revolutionary.
um, not really. how does that even make sense?
LOL @LN
Follow the logic, gal. It makes sense. 75 is a "revolutionary house".
kwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Shelaring 2.0.
what is this sherareeeng? and why is it that version 2.0 is so awesome?
@LN: P.S. there is enough light emanating from your screen.
75 is not a revolutionary house and this is not a photograph nor is it revolutionary — that requires no debating, but you have made up your mind.
So, enjoy —
P!
hahahahahahaha. you cannot simply declare something beyond debate. There is nothing absolute in this world. Nay. This is a photo. Prove me wrong.
I can concede that this is no revolutionary house, since U R it's creator. But my revolutions with bring it full circle. Just U wait.
I won't prove you wrong, as you put it: there is nothing in absolute in this world, which also, implies — there is no proving anything to be wrong or right if nothing is absolute, that I know.
But, we live in a relative world, to that absolute: as much you tried to use the argument of light to justify it being a photograph, that in itself means we have to accept some things to be relatively, true, such the concept of light, such the concept of this being an image, or photograph, or a bitmap, or a line drawing, whatever the interpretations maybe, its all relative, to whatever we accept, individually — not collectively — what is true and what is not.
So, in my observation this is not a photograph — this is merely an image, a line drawing at that, not a very good one at that, relatively.
So, like you have already made your mind that this is 'photograph' and that is your relative truth, you have to be content and accept it, everybody else can and should make up their mind what this is.
Like I said, I won't prove you wrong nor right: I don't care much what is right and what is wrong, actually, I don't care much about nothing or anything.
So, rock on — rock star, in any way you please: but don't assume you can try to get me to accept what is relatively true to you, it insults my relatively false intelligence.
P!
#ps: I did not create 75: it is still being created (through the 'graphers) — I merely, added semi-colons where needed and shifted one to 1024 pixels.
:-)
OK so now. I've uploaded both versions in one ek se. The power of technology ;)
Haha. When did I assume that I would get you to accept what is relatively true to me? I simply wished to understand and to challenge convention. My aim was to use logic to argue on behalf of that which seemed to be improbable at the time.
I acknowledge ur argument of the truth being relative to the individual's interpretation thereof. It sounds pretty solid.
I don't know if it's because you care or not, but you seem to be content to walk the tightrope of engaging and not engaging. This thread was created out of jest, but now I want to engage.
My argument is this. Making a claim means that one adopts a stance. Any stance, once acknowledged, can be accepted or refuted. I knew full well that it could or could not be a photograph, but the very act of my proclamation posed a challenge which illicited a response from you. You are defensive. I am of the opinion that one would only seriously respond vehemently on the defensive if my claims in fact did pose a threat to the established concept i.e. what a photograph is. This entitles me to the belief that you do acknowledge on some level that the above pictures could both be photographs. Your reasons for defending the norm? I dunno the answer to that.
We must understand that the photograph is a concept and concepts do change. They do evolve, lest they become irrelevant. by making a claim such as the one I have stated, I am merely actively taking the next step in the evolutionary process, be it at a moderate or relatively accelerated pace.
I agree that the idea of intelligence is false, but as you overstand yourself to be submissive to the concept, it becomes a truth.
Ai I am tired now. Maybe I'll reread this later and argue against myself, haha.
Rock on, Rock Steady LN!
Aaah I remember what I wanted to say in response to you now... Does it really matter?
… nope it doesn't matter.
well, haha. I didn't mean that was the response. I was referring to the fact that I remembered my argument. i.e. Do you need to know what I was gonna say? Does it even matter anymore? U know. But my guess is that ur answer would still be the same :)
this way too post modern for me.
LMFAO @ "75 is not a revolutionary house and this is not a photograph nor is it revolutionary"
Heehee
@ Shy. It is a nonsense argument stuck in history :P
... Do you think they both qualify as photographs? What do you think of my paint skills?
all for keeping it
