personally

 challenge or no challenge.

I did not "shoot" the photograph itself, i do not know anything about the photographer, and I do not know anything about the subject(s) of the photos. And dont really wanna.I cant change anything,

Personally i dont think i wanna use them any other way than presented.

I've been enjoying this discussion but you seem to be running away from it.
By refusing to get personal you're denying art.
By not engaging with your subject you're keeping away from exploring your possibilities of expression.
By presenting these images in this detached way you're refusing to take a deeper meaning from them.
    That is not artistic expression.
It is conceptual; no doubt about it, but it's a cold, useless, academic exercise.
The only thing clear with this image is that you seem to have some difficulty getting in touch with your emotions, how can you curate anything if you’re engagement is so blurry and philosophical?
But that is only my interpretation…

    @ UP

“Interpretation is the revenge of the intellect upon art. Even more. It is the revenge of the intellect upon the world. To interpret is to impoverish, to deplete the world -- in order to set up a shadow world of ''meanings.''”

    Susan Sontag

i never over think the images i make, and also the images i find, the image itself is good for me, unless --unless there is inspiration to deconstruct
,create new realities, enlarge , reduce if so i will work the image ---but otherwise i am ok to just let it BE.

as for u and curators* good luck

It doesn't surprise me that you quote Sontag.
It doesn't surprise me that you answer with a quote.
    You haven't surprised me once.
You insist on hiding and avoiding engaging with the themes discussed. As a result this debate has become fruitless and sterile.
I have failed on my attempt to make your true nature more visible and less blury:

I wish you and curators good luck.

i have and still dont think of 75 as a prescription
community, my imagery is what comes forth in me-- personal non personal. the sharing of vision and the difference of sight is what interests me.
    foam or no foam ---

  5. Uno

Neither do I "think of 75 as a prescription community" and your imagery is your imagery, you choose how to express yourself. So do I.
I just expressed my discomfort on how you used someone else's images. You challenged me, I answered, I challenged you, you answered (in a somewhat blurred way). I commented on your lack of clarity and your reply : "the sharing of vision and the difference of sight is what interests me" is all that foam is about. You're like a dog chasing its own tail.
Maybe that's what brings me discomfort about curators, you are as evasive as politicians.

    RE-USE* EVERYTHING ---
and in the future i will try and find
the person in found images, when i go dumpster diving again soon.

truely my fisrt time i read curator and politician in the same sentence, u must of had a bad experience
with a curator, artists, curators like people come in different shapes sizes and different ways of understanding and utilizing what is around us.

maybe one day i curate ( invite u to work with me)*

have a blessed ramadaan, and a lovely weekend.

  7. Uno

Thank you. Indeed had a lovely weekend.
Didn't answer earlier because I try not to be on the internet during the weekend (which is usually dedicated to family and photography, generally outdoors).

Most of these statements were just provocations. I love controversy and heated debate; it opens the dialogue and makes people express their deepest emotions and opinions.
This is one of the reasons I’m on 75, to be challenged and to challenge, to engage with different opinions and interpretations, and to open my eyes to this world and its diversity while creating new spaces free from “prescriptions”.

Honestly I really don't know that many curators to generalize, but have a feeling that the profession has been badly represented in recent years, probably a result of the excessive commercialization of art and the exploitation that comes with it (especially from galleries). The same happens with my profession, unfortunately.

As for my comparison between curators and politicians, I think it has to do with the diplomacy necessary to both, that sometimes compromises integrity but in the end it was just another provocation…

As for Susan Sontag’s statement, “On photography” she interprets everything way too much, don’t you think?

I’ve been enjoying your recent images; will post some comments on each one.

Hope to have more interesting discussions in the future.

    Blessed ramadaan.
