Workflow and post processing on a linux platform

a note.

Are any of you guys using Ubuntu or any other linux flavour? I'm intrested to know what you use for post processing. I've tried Raw Therapee and Darktable. While I prefer Darktable, both apps don't handle large volumes well at all - even with an i5 processor with 4GB DDR3 ram.

I'm getting to the point where im even considering getting a mac (PC ain't an option) but all that $$$ could be better used to get a nice prime.

I use GIMP on Ubuntu exclusively (besides UFRaw to save RAW files to JPG). Gimp plugin registry has some magic things in it too, as well as a great community

hmm okay. I find that I get better quality lowlight jpgs out of the camera than i do with rawtherapee- especially noise performance wise, I haven't played around with GIMP yet, still quite new to the world of graphic manipulation.

I do very very little post processing in general (WB adjustment or a curve lift is all), but Caz does quite a lot with GIMP (www.cazpix.co.za and 75 http://75.co.za/cazpix/) You should ask her...

I am on Linux. I use UFRAW (prefer to any others) and then Gimp. UFRaw works pretty well actually. Feel free to ask if you want: cazpi@cazpix.co.za (I always forget to chek here lol)
