a note.

Each time I think of uploading a pic... I always wonder if it's necessary to tag it. Or add a ©tehPaperCut somewhere... I just don't think it's necessary... I'm not a professional photographer... I don't really think my pics are THAT amazing that someone would bother to steal them, claim them as their own and make millions of money off of them.

Am I over-thinking this?

    Nah you not, i too use to think like that. Hence when you go thru my older photos you will see they not "tagged" at all. I started using watermarks after i created my blog, which is now a default feature on my lightroom when i export the image as the web knows no boundaries nor shores. So it's very easy to just grab an image(esp mine cos my theme posts High Res Photos), copyright it and make a few bucks off it without your knowledge. I also use it as it as some form of "marketing" & recognition, you wont believe how many people know the watermark more than the man behind the "Leboshmoove" watermark. Then there are agencies or individuals who constantly ask for my portfolio before a shoot, need i say more?

    Sorry for bombarding you if words if i did, it's a sickness that i am yet to find a cure for.

    Yo Cut, i've been against watermarking, especially on my 75 uploads, until through google my work appeared in international blogs, ripped and re-posted...im sure they didnt make any money, but even so, they might as well carry my name around the interweb.

    I think yes as you start you think aaarg, whats my works worth, till a proper manipulator uses ur works on a Tee design or some concepts i.e the CT street photographer ripped by Mr Price....luckily she got her stash after an Out-Of-court settlement. I think your name more than anything scares off thieves and would be abusers of our love gems...its just needs to be done tastefully.

    Thanks for the opinions guys, I think I'm gonna start tagging. I'll just need to figure out how to do it "tastefully" as Jeff says.

    @Lebo, I'm glad you bombarded with words, I don't see how you would have shortened that response anyway. So it's cool.
