Yes.
Man, I wish 75 had a forum, these notes are cool, but I (we?) need more.
Yes.
I am thinking a knowledge repository.
You know including common information on where to print, where to buy material and equipment, where to fix cameras, where to get equipment for hire.
Tutorials on how to do stuff: bokeh, tilt-shifting, free lensing, studio lighting, post production, apps to aid in photography;
almost like a wiki, and yes, a forum to discuss things related to photography not only technical but also the role of photography in society, type of things.
Wait, I just thought we need to do a photography-meet up.
yeah.
Oh, yes, it can also be used to organise meetups and stuff like that.
Im up for a meet-up.... Really wanna meet the peeps behind the pics!
where meet ups are concerned... i think theres been some talks but never actual actions leading to them, how about a random weekend, either a saturday or sunday we set up a facebook event (i think we are all on facebook) and just do it... come one come all type of thing... i dont know,
what u think?
The repository will definately be useful.
and a meet up is a bit overdue.
it all sounds good to me, love the knowledge repository part of it.
Awe!
Maybe part of the meet-up could be a chance to discuss idea around 75?
So when do we meet?
I have a really bad track record for attending events, so I'll just shut up and see what everyone else says first.
Nah, Diaan.
You sparked the match! You can't just sit back.
So the question how much do we all need to schedule a meet-up? one week? two weeks? three weeks? a month? from now?
:P
I can't think more than a few weeks in advance, and I'm not too busy at the moment, so how about between 1 and 4 weeks from now?
Ok.
Lets say, on the 30th of June? We can use this date at a mark to see who is available and who is not and change it if need be to accommodate everybody?
im in durban that weekend but if the majority is available i shall hear all about it upon my return
The 30th is bloody far and prolly winter will be too cold
How about we meet next week?
@Seilatsatsi: Hmmm,,, lets see, a what dates would work for you?
@Karabo: yeah, 30th is far, but odds are we all got things to do; hence a late date so people can make the meet-up what they will do, have time to plan for it.
But, if we can meet next week so shall it be.
camping on the weekend of the 30th, free for karabo's next week.
im free next week too
I free next week...
Free next week. Well, most days.
How is the weekend looking for yáll?
Eish, the weekend is the 16th of June, should we make it the 17th on Sunday?
Either are good for me so far.
Awesome! 16 or 17th provincial.
*dances*
i vote for 17th June
17th seems like it.
So, then next question is: where? What is central to all and accessible? Somewhere warm though, this Winter is making it hard to even type these words.
How about somewhere near Arts on Main, considering it's a Sunday so the place should be nice and lively? There are a few places around there that could be possibilities. I'll leave the other suggestions up to the Joburg locals since they're bound to have loads of ideas.
Word, Arts on Main could work! Plus its a market thing magic right? I like it.
Eish, I've just been informed that on Sunday it's Father's day.
Father's day is non-event for me, so those of you that do celebrate it, should we move the date or reschedule the time we meet?
Yeah, it's a market day. As for father's day, my father is touring France with my stepmom, so as long as I send an sms I'm safe.
If we move it to Saturday the market vibes could still work, I'm sure there are some cool (aka, warm and cozy) places near the neighbourhoods goods market, or whatever it's called.
Im game for any day
Yeah, there is the Great Dane spot opposite the "neighbourgoods market" and next to Kitchners.
I suppose Saturday could work, considering it's only Youth Day, we would have no obligations.
Awe!
Late night idea: how about a very short collab, something random we can do at the meetup, kinda like a theme, just location based instead.
I am game!
:)
Saturday, Braamfontein (Neighbourgoods Market + Great Dane)
Time will be when the market opens I suppose right?
