I use it. Main reason is 'history' and my originals are left untouched.

What are the "community's" thoughts on Lightroom? I just got myself a mac and took a few pics, but man, the default black and white presets are insane! And lightroom also has very easy tools for clipping reigning in highlights and pushing back shadows.. Ridiculous stuff.
I realise that this might just be a phase that will pass quickly.. but damn!
So who uses it?

Sudijons
Since the discovery of Photography on earth republic, Sudijons always use Lightroom and I have not bothered to learn other editing tools since then. it is an amazing editing software, it does great job, Plus when I do a mass editing. Saves hell of a lot of time.

Same here...the workflow and storage is awesome in Lightroom. I've played with Aperture as well, but moved back to Lightroom. I'd say it's well worth the money. We need a export to 75 plugin :)

use it too all the time, 99% of all my shots go through it. the best button on it especially when youre working with tons of pictures shot on the same day -----> "Previous"

I edit most of my photos on Lightroom,
today i learned how to do tethering on it and this is what i've beeeeeeen looking for.I agree, the workflow and storage is too dope.
@novocaine I've been using the VSCO keys for Lightroom and its cut my post production time.

Mmmm... Im gonna disagree, I have used Lightroom and found its image editing capabilities to be very limited. Everything that I could do in Lightroom I could do in Photoshop plus a lot more... But Photoshop takes a lot of practise and has no presets, but once you start to master it you will never look back.

Sheri, I hear you 'bout photoshop — its bigger than Lightroom in what it can do, but my problem with it, is it's changes are permanent. You'd have to save a PSD everytime, and PSD are hella large.
Whereas lightroom keeps record of every single thing you change in small text file. Makes it easier to change and modify later, and it also doesn't affect your original photograph.

Hmmm Sheri, you're entering into the realm of the question of where post production should end. As far as many people are concerned you should only change what can be changed in an actual darkroom. I'm not sure where I stand on that, we have to modernise...
But yeah for me, a person who doesn't want to learn photoshop and who doesn't like the overly slick magazine type photos... lightroom is perfect. :)

Lightroom is definitely one of my most used tools. I like using it to organise my collections. I also use all the other usual suspects though, like Photoshop.
I like the non-destructive way Lightroom works on images and how easy it is to do quick, minor adjustments. Photoshop is for the heavy lifting and processing of scans via the ColorPerfect plugin.
