I use GIMP on Ubuntu exclusively (besides UFRaw to save RAW files to JPG). Gimp plugin registry has some magic things in it too, as well as a great community

    2. novocaine

hmm okay. I find that I get better quality lowlight jpgs out of the camera than i do with rawtherapee- especially noise performance wise, I haven't played around with GIMP yet, still quite new to the world of graphic manipulation.

I do very very little post processing in general (WB adjustment or a curve lift is all), but Caz does quite a lot with GIMP (www.cazpix.co.za and 75 http://75.co.za/cazpix/) You should ask her...

    4. cazpix

I am on Linux. I use UFRAW (prefer to any others) and then Gimp. UFRaw works pretty well actually. Feel free to ask if you want: cazpi@cazpix.co.za (I always forget to chek here lol)

Ola Diaan, Liz and I are keen. Let me know which weekend would be best to come to your spot :)

    2. Diaan

Awesome. I'm in no rush, this is basically a long term project, but I've added your names to my list and I'll contact you some time in the near future.

    3. Lebo Shmoove

I know a mixed race couple(African & White) which is based in Pretoria that i was meant to do a shoot with in march after they get their new born baby. Think that makes a proper shoot, what you think?

    4. Diaan

Ooh, I'd like their names please, if they're okay with that. Also, I'm planning on shooting all my mixed couples with children if they have any and are willing.

    5. Lebo Shmoove

It's Vanessa Hill and Obakeng Mokwena

    6. Diaan

      They on Facebook?

And even though we have been through a few years of rainbow nationalism, some colours have been swept under the carpet. It seems as though rather than being conservative about matters, we've rather decided to play along until something confrontational has happened. Thanx diaan. Your photos are super sick, doings great job. Since well I'm in Spain with family and my siblings go to an international American school , I heard my lil sister ask my lil bro if this one person was brown or peach, my lil bro replied, "black, what are peach people,?" :) a colour blind world we strive for only lives in the hearts of the unignorant. The lives of those who have been blessed with te presenc of difference, even though you know who you are and your ethnicity, you see no difference in another human being for u know they are just the same. Only laundry should be separated in colours

I'm sorry, I'm horrified. Shame Diaan, not sure there is a way to get over people like that. Huge huge hugs. xx

    4. novocaine

I'm surprised they let her outside... where black people can see her. Hope she's got jungle fever and ends up teaching them a lesson in humanity.

    5. Diaan

Well, that's the problem, Novocaine. She didn't stand up to them, and probably won't. :(

    6. novocaine

Eish. That really sucks. Let's hope she manages to do it some day ...

It would be awesome to add a function that let's you choose an option for Viewers and for Graphers when one uploads their work.

    2. lebogang nkoane

Hmm,,, only noticed this now (read: I am now sober)

I think it would fit into a different strategy — otherwise it would break the '75 narrative'; Top of the head, I'd say a 'portfolio type' section could be created for each 'grapher, and within that, you could set the privacy levels (or grant who can see which photographs in that portfolio).

But, when it can be done, I am not sure — that will be tricky now, as I am already rebuilding and working on a new version which uses a more advanced framework than the current one.

Can't wait *dances naked in the rain*.

    4. NguJaz

so what other kitchen utensils are we to see Ngoatle's appendage tangled with _this_ time? lol

    5. Gods Kid Brother

that sounds great @Lebo Shmoove...any chance of HTML5 conversion?...
