Finally, I got to shoot fireworks!!
St. John's
Well done Oriel. Some of the colours in your Facebook album are fab!
Quick question. Are these shot hand-held, or on tripod?
And what settings did you find worked best for you?
Thank you Daz :)
I pushed my ISO down to 200
Shutter was between 1" and 4" exposure - most of them were shot at 2" though.
The Aperture stayed constant at F5
I sommer used my 18-70mm Kit lens
I cant wait for the next one... what I'll do different: I'll try shorten the shutter as much as I can, the slightly longer exposed shots has super white whites, like in the bottom of the shot.
The biggest challenge: trying to adjust shutter speed and aperture between shots for different brightness of fireworks. Eventually I just left the aperture alone and tried to quickly set the shutter.
Things happen fast and unpredictable, but wow, what a rush!
Wonderland of light - beautiful, Oriel.
As usual, good stuff O, thanks for sharing your approach, its nice to know how other photographers approach their craft.
Thank you for the comments
@Daz - yes, sorry, I forgot to mention - I did use a tripod, dont think one could do it without
magical
Thanks :)
