Moments: Laughter

Moments: Laughter

I thank you God for creating me black

White is the colour for special occasions

Black the colour for every day

And I have carried the World since the dawn of time

My laugh over the World, through night, creates the day

I thank you God for creating me black

Does the Senghorian school still hold in definations of black? What about laughter?

    Négritude/ Authenticité

    *Aside:

How about adding "People of no colour" to our vocab; seeing as we already have "People of Colour"???

I've incensed people with the former term

    infectious expressions these

this must be one of the few times however that I believe your story does not "fit" the image -- it detracts somehow

anyhoo -- "fit" is a notion up for debate

I was touched by the innocent laughter of these two ladies that crossed colour barriers in a mixed-couple wedding. I thought of Gabriel Okara's "You laughed and laughed and laughed". You are right it doesn't not seem to fit, but it does to me because I know the many links between the image and the words... I did not want to flood 75 with the links. Not helpful either:-(
