Early morning missions.
Wake up, darkness still upon me.
Crawl out of bed, shower.
Three floors down to the basement,
Keys in the ignition the engine fires.
Calm peaceful drive along unknown roads,
Night slowly fading, but not just yet.
Reaching coastal roads that twist and sway,
Ocean breeze flows through open window.
Walk down steep sloped paths,
Small black and white birds walk by.
Step into the water, sand between my toes.
Tripod up, camera set…
Snap, snap, snap.
Night passes into day.
Penguins huddle on open rocks,
Sunrise their early morning movie.
Within minutes dawn has faded,
But captured forever in a moment.
