Emabhodweni (cooking)

Emabhodweni (cooking)

It was shere joy seein how this little old lady did her coocking to perfection using the most basic of methods and ingridients....!

The men on the far right were having what we call "imibengo" or "amantshontsho"......(strips of meat cut from tender parts of a cow, that will be shared by those responsible for doing the meat for the guests)

The two men on the left, were sharing a couple of spliffs of "umthunzi wezinkukhu" (dagga/marujuana)

you always find the grannies cooking, I wonder if with time, will we lose this part of ourselves, coz I don't see my woman doing this when she is old, it might break her nails!!!

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha......guy,I don't know why,but with most mordenised Zulu girls i know, whenever there is such a gathering,or if it's a funeral, they always forget their citiy lives and become women...cook,peel,sleep on the floor, wake up at odd hours to do tripe and they do all this with an authentic smile on their prety faces..>!

Hehehe, I was just thinking that 'emabhodweni' is directly translated to: 'In the pots'
