"Things we glorify do lead turn us into arrogant fools who's worlds revolve around what we believe is true and absolute" ... What do you mean guy?

  2. Sthe Ngcobo

What do you gather from those few lines (before i start going on and on trying to explain what you didn't ask)

  3. Kunta Kinte

Hypothetically speaking... If I glorified God, where does the arrogant fool come in?

  4. Sthe Ngcobo

Dude, this has nothing to do with religion. This is about "insangu" and the grip and the damage to society it has in KZN.
Did you miss the tags on this photo or is it a matter of misinterpretation?

  5. Kunta Kinte

Hence Hypothetically speaking part... Your statement is too broad...

  6. Sthe Ngcobo

Hayi, angihoxise inkulumo yami bhuti...singabangi into engekho!

  7. Kunta Kinte

Like I understand what you just said Popo (-_-)

  8. Sthe Ngcobo

"I take back my words,I do not want to argue about nothing"
    direct translation......
I do not understand how it got to here and where this might end up at,but I believe you didnt get what I was trying to say or what message I was trying to convey.

  9. Kunta Kinte

I didn't see it as an argument guy... Just two people sharing their opinions... And you are rite, I didn't get what you where trying to convey.. Hence "What do you mean guy?"

  10. Sthe Ngcobo

Kzn is gripped by a bout of crimes associated with dagga and "Woonga"abuse. families fear their own members, young kids, like this one,go about proudly displaying their affection for insangu, ignoring any other chances to advance in life and make a difference. As long as they got their fix and listen to their "alter-egos", everything is perfect in their world.
Take it as an awareness campaign or whatever, this is what my area is going thorugh, don't know about yours.
P.S: my choice of words were not so good in that "direct translation", sibuye singidide isingisi.

  11. Kunta Kinte

Now that makes more sense and I partially agree with you...

  12. Sthe Ngcobo

    Elaborate.

  13. Kunta Kinte

Consumption on marijuana doesn't not equate to criminal activities...

  14. Sheri_G

Marijuana alone is no problem... Trust me I have been smoking daily for many years, and still live a productive life. The problem comes in when it is mixed with thing like crack and heroin aka "woonga"... These drugs are highly addictive and can cause serious physical and mental harm, the effects of these drugs far out way the effects of marijuana and these drugs would have the exact same effect if they were mixed with regular tabaco.

  15. Sthe Ngcobo

Sheri, true, by the way, "insangu" is a Zulu word for marijuana!
    :-)
@Kabelo,drugs aren't bad taken in moderate amount, drugs aren't bad when one doesn't tell himself he's above the law and can turn his fantasies into reality and start terrorising the community, drugs aren't bad if one doesn't get hooked onto them and start selling personal belongings and stealing from the hood to feed the habit, drugs aren't bad if one doesnt beat up and steal from HIV/AIDS affected people to mix whatever tablets they've been given with zol to come up with "woonga" (mixture of ARV's and marijuana)......
But then again, this is what is happening in my kzn!

  16. Sheri_G

@Sthe.... Marijuana is not a drug, it's a herb. Drugs are chemical and man made... Its these drugs that people get hooked on. Marijuana is clinically proven to be non physically addictive and be can be quit without withdrawal symptoms it can how ever me mentally addictive.
Marijuana is cheap (well the stuff these guys are smoking) and one would never steal to support a weed habit, you would simply grow your own. WOW.... I sound like a real hippie weed advocate.....LOL!!

  17. Kunta Kinte

@Sheri :-) Thank you very much

@Popo would I be rite in saying "its not the drug, but how an individual handles the drug" ?

  18. Sthe Ngcobo

    :-D
    @Sheri....Hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha!!
    Yes you do!!

@Kabelo: I do not know hey. You do get people who act differently from others when under the influence of drugs, you do get people who develop split personalities due to consuming certain forms of drugs. All that is one and the same to a black parent who doesn't understand where he/she might have gone wrong in raising his/her child.

  19. Kunta Kinte

I think you have re-affirmed my statement... :-) its how the individual handles themselves after taking drugs...

  20. Sthe Ngcobo

That is how you have read my lines(pun intended),you seem not to be understanding where I am coming from with this or what I am trying to say.
This is not about how individuals act after consuming intoxicating substances, but about a sociaty that doesnt see individuals but a young nation suffering from drug abuse. And how many are judged based on how a few act after consuming certain drugs or how they showcase their love for the said drug (like this guy in this photo) shameleslly while they do shameless deeds under the influence without showing any remose or pity till the effects wear off!
