Malume 101

Malume 101

South African word which means uncle

The word has evolved with the times

Some could say it has lost its meaning,

Malume was a respected  individual

Who represented the whole family, he’ll be that dude

Everybody comes to for advice,

The guy who would negotiate a lobola

When mochana (Nephews/Niece ) get married.

Believe me family gatherings you can’t miss him.

He would be a focal point of every event, when he’s not

It won’t the same.

Few individuals who made wrong choices with their lives,

Gave the name Malume a bad name.

Modern usage the name could be used to show respect.

Is popular among, Taxi drivers,  car washers, friends, classmates, and colleague e.tc.
