Good one.

...this is really good.
This
haunting,and i love this image.
The rage in me right now, i feel as though we as people of our nation are chilling cause we aren't certain circumstances, like just because I'm not poor, theres nothing to worry about just because I'm not Brett, theres nothing to worry, just because BEE got me, its all good. yohhhhh. we have been quiet hey. if still after 18years we can tell people to go back to europe, then there must be a problem somewhere, coz although its not just us who say things like that, like "that darkie" or "people like them", then surely its all in there, hidden because we are trying to look like the best thing to ever happen after something very harsh. well we not and we gotta start with that because if not, boiiiii we going down under.
thanks for the love guys. speak out
The problem has always been there...it was never addressed in the first place, and the "rug" it was swept under became too small when more "dirt" and scandals got chucked under neath it.....!
As a nation, tolerating each other is easy, but once the scales tip over and that thin line between being blatantly arrogant and stupid and tolerant is crossed, sh*t hits the fan and a portion of what is hidden underneath the "dirt rug" gets out and it can't be contained or will never be shoved back underneath that rug...!
It is easy to shout: whites are racists", it is easy to say blacks are fools....it is easy to turn a blind eye to the injustices done to blacks by indians and chinese in Durban and surrounding areas....albeit all that, we still pride ourselves for being "a rainbow nation" and calling ourselves a "young democracy"....!!
When are we going to grow up???? When are we going to take a stand and speak our minds out without the fears of being called names and sell outs....? when are we going to stop hiding behing slogans like: " our parants suffered..." or "this land was won through blood and tear gas" and start new slogans that will sound like: "this economy was built from nothing"......or " we made this country to be what it is through the true meaning of forgiving and the spirit of togetherness"????? When will that happen.....?! surely not in my life time if we are still shouting "this is racist" and paying attention to paintings more than we pay attention to service delivery!!!
I also feel that all this noise about The Spear is a way of distracting us from the rest of Murray's work in that gallery, which tackles much more serious issues besides the president's nudity and is much more provoking in the way it exposes how the ANC symbols have changed and how its image can be portrayed. I think this probably started as a temperamental reaction from the president and his family and when it reached the media it was twisted and turned (spindoctored) as a way of censoring the whole exhibition based on only one of its works.
@Sthe: as much as I agree with a lot of what you say, I think we should still be measured in the way we "speak our minds out", there's a lot of anger nad hate out there and the danger is of instead of opening the dialogue it might trigger violence and more divisions.
That's why I feel that this whole drama is being used more for people to vent their frustrations and anger than to actually focusing on the real issues.
Love this shot ;)
beautiful shot
