Made this one last friday morning as I was walking out of the Metrorail ticket check at the Cape Town Station. I was disturbed by a metrorail officer who asked if I had a permit to make photos, here is our dialogue:
- why do I need a permit?
-because you can't take photos here without a permit.
- why?
- because you can't
-but there's no sign saying I can't
- but you can't.
- why?
- beacuse it's not allowed
- are you going to arrest me?
- I can, if I want to.
- are you going to?
- I can call security to arrest you
- are you going to?
At this point she turned her back to me and walked away, I did the same, looking around at the kids sniffing glue, the preachers, the beggars, the skolies and thinking about how the night before my cellphone was stolen from my pocket, at the station, right under the security's nose, but if you hold a camera you get in trouble...
And by the way, Metrorail sucks...
