RED - hypocrisy

RED - hypocrisy

I’m late for the AIDS World Day theme.

Can anyone spot the hypocrisy? On one side we’ve got the 2010 fever where we open our arms to the world; on the other we close doors to our neighbouring countries (and even to our own citizens). Is it because they’re African, poor and black? What our billboards say and what our government does are two opposites. There’s no sense one can make of it all. It’s an old political game where only the deck of cards has been changed. From mistake to mistake we stumble through the repetition of our history. I see red, but it’s the blood dripping from the hands of our decision makers.

its ironiC how people are chanting the slogan "world peace" when we as South Africans can't even share pieces of "our" land with our next door neighbours who are without homes...it's a sad story and then the headlines change.
