Out - come* Another 12 months neatly packed away
And this endless, obsessive motion forward
One last hurdle
As we stumble on the threshold
Intoxicated and logged off from our responsibilities
(as if we are logged in every other day anyway…)
If we believe in these imposed time frames
With their prescribed behaviour
Then the outcome should be to simply to become
Without frills
Artificiality Lies Or Resolutions
Just be
Our need to define territory
Limits, dates, intervals, horizons
Are our tools to control fear
Fear of the lack of meaning
Of a useless existence
Of the inexistence of a pre-defined path/destiny
Or life after death
Or any logic sequence
That obeys science and/or religion
We are stuck in a linear, mathematical
Time concept
We move forward
Looking over our shoulders (or maybe not)
Most times out of regret, melancholy and sorrow
But I accept nothing I’ve just said
My belief is in our capacity
As individuals that form connections
With other individuals
(And so on and so on)
Leading to a certain sense of community
That is lacking in our society
We are capable of building stadiums, roads, malls, bridges
But we still live unconnected
We are still surrounded by inequality, prejudice, fear, violence
But We keep on buying designer clothes, shoes, watches
Exotic cars, drinks, drugs
We still express our individuality with bling
We still believe and tell the same lies
To others and to ourselves
75 has been important to discuss ideas and stir preconceptions
In a melting pot of creative individuals
From different backgrounds, cultures, cities, professions, nationalities
I respect each and every one of you
And wish everyone a safe and chilled time with friends and family
Just that well deserved break
To put things in perspective
And regroup
