Same clock tower, different time, different angle.

Made in 2007 with a Pentax SP1000, with a 55mm lens and Ilford 400 asa film.

On yesterday's post you asked me what was my motivation, as you can see from this photo, the clock tower had been used as a subject in the past but with a different composition. On this one I was using a manual camera with a fixed 55mm lens which probably led me to avoid a straight on image, which would crop out the two circular vents on the building. Also on this one I was using a 400 asa B & W film which probably led me to explore the texture and the fading background a bit more.
On yesterday's one I was using a wide angle (24 -72mm) digital camera which gave me more freedom to play with the symmetry and with the geometry of the composition. There's something about those three circles (the two vents and the clock dial), the roof and the horizon line that makes it very attracting. Together with the concept of time on a town with very interesting history and stories, with a lot of retired senior citizens which might have a very different relationship with that clock makes me want to try to look at it from different perspectives.
