With the train strike I've been taking the bus to work. Yesterday the lines were so long and the buses so few that we were moving 5m in 1 hour and the line was about two blocks long... after some quick maths I came to the conclusion that it was better to ask for a lift... I have that option, how about the majority of people on that line?
Everyday I see people early in the morning and late at night walking huge distances, taxis and buses are full and can't cope with the demand.
I agree with people demanding better conditions and better pay, but I don't agree with the way unions use strikes as their own political bargaining and justification for their existence... if you have a good look at it, after their wage increase, all the prices will go up again to make up for the losses, they will probably end up the same or worse than before... and what about the rest of us who still get paid the same?
