Freedom has several difficult ways to go, but it's worth.Because actually we have to be in all aspects, not only in the political.
    A good shot

Nostalgic yes. We fought for a free and equal SA less than 2 decades ago....but now the divide between rich and poor is larger than it ever was.

    - Spatial inequality is still rife. For example, social housing is built on the periphery of cities (eg. DELFT in Cape Town) far away from jobs public transport +the best facilities our cities have to offer.

    - The freedom charter called for a Non Racial South Africa. But we are still categorized into silly little race boxes that are supposed to define who we are. (by the Anc - the 'non racial' party' who repeatedly use 'race' as a tool in elections)

    - We are promised the world when the government knows it can't deliver. (A house for Everyone? when will they give up this lie?)

Service delivery protests are flaring up everywhere. Today. and its not going to end soon. We need to wake up/ speak out and take action if we care about our country and its freedom.

    Thanks for the comments.

@ Shy 1, many valid points especially about service delivery and race.

I also think that the term "service delivery protest" is a very effective and institutionalised (media and govt) euphemism to explain the protests coming from frustration and pain that the working classes are going through. Like the word "unrest" during apartheid...

    nostalgic thought this

@buchu - yeah feeling your thoughts on the term 'service delivery protest'. I spent my morning in Nyanga + Phillipi speaking to people about the kinds of social problems/frustrations they're experiencing. People are not happy with the government in general and i think, certainly in cape town, there is so much inequality its embarrassing - we have the money - but somehow it doesn't reach the people who need it most. sad times. Although amongst all this inequality and slavery there are moments of light and hope. We need to make a stand for freedom and equality and not accept anything less.
