The panelbeater

The panelbeater

As we left the Regina Mundi Church, Soweto, during our recent #JhbPhotoWalk, I came across a panelbeating shop. I always feel like they're dodgy places, chop-shops in the making. The light was streaming in, backlighting the man, who was just removing his shades, and lighting a cigarette. I asked him, if I could take a photo. He said yes. The others said no. I took the pic, thanked him, and moved on.

The shot is blurred. But it feels like I can get away with it. A smoky, dingy place, with dodgy characters. Almost as if the camera knew, and wanted to preserve a bit of anonymity.
