Thirteen Hours

Hello, now that I slept that long, feeling so-fresh-so-clean, I can write eloquently and clearly.

Firstly, welcome to the new beta.  Reworked from scratch and redesigned from almost the old one.  The key point of the re-design was to push the focus of the site to 'photography', the photograph is the star of the show.

Space

I have removed some of the ambiguity of the ol' alpha, that disturbing phrase, 'space' is removed and replaced with 'photography', because at the end it's all about photography.

History 

I have also removed the phrase, 'archive' and changed it to history, considering your photography is time based, 'one photograph per day'.

Copyright

I have now added the option to license your photography under creative commons license, I would recommend you reading that license and see if you agree with it, if not, then you can 'reserve all the rights' to your photography.

Originality 

There is also the ability to see the original photograph, which was inspired (read: coerced) by Khumbelo's 'Come fly thing me...', which definitely looks better in it's full glory. 

Icon 

Then there is the 'icon' thing.  My choice of names of things might not be sound but, I definitely do no like the phrase, 'buddy icon'.  So I choose 'icon' as in 'a symbol' that represents your 'handle' on 75.

Love. 

Knowing that the site will grow, I figured some way some how, one would like to keep track of the photographs they love.  So if you like a photograph, 'show some love'  (hippnotic whut!)

Albeit this functionality is not complete, I am still to build an interface to view all your loved photographs.  More so also allow the rock-star (the photographer) to see which of their photographs are love.  That will come in two weeks.

AJAX. 

What is it? Well in the technical definition is: Asynchronous JavaScript and XML.  In our world it simply means, making thing easier. 

No need to reload an entire page just to edit your comment, show some love, change the title of the document, edit/add tags, change the copyright status.  More things will be built like this as the project grows.

Invitations

I am still to build this, but I have changed the model for it, it will be based on a mathematical formulae that would allow the current photographers to invite whom-ever they want to also contribute and become a photographer.

Books.

I do not have a better phrase to describe this, but in short in means, there will be a monthly call for 'titled' photography to be submitted by all and not only limited to the photographer's but by anybody who is registered here. 

Then I am hoping the photographs will be compiled into a book (see the reference). Details will later.

Journal

As you might has noted each journal entry now has the author's name, although it's only me allowed to, this wil change to allow the photographers to jot down some thoughts.

I don't want it to become a 'blog', I want it to become a shared knowledge space, with anything that is related to 'photography' and limited to that.  So we can all share ideas on photography.

Alas, this entry is already way too long.
