pls invite me, i have lots of photography to share
Okay, I have not slept, I have not even got close to pluggin' Bra Dan's request --- but I'll let this run for a bit, then Bra Dan you on --- I got a conversation going about the 'point' (lack there) of 75.
Firstly, when you register on 75 --- it tells you: you won't be able to upload any photography. I could not make that any clearer.
Secondly, there is a gang load of sites on the web that are termed photo-sharing-social-networks. I do not think 75 is about that, I think it's about photography period. What we do after that, it's not upto to 75 to decide.
Thirdly, I keep getting the same request why don't I allow everybody to 'upload their' photography. The answer is simple, 75 is not about that --- it's about photography --- there is Flickr, Picasa, Facebook, Yahoo, Photobucket --- hell I'm sure every country on the planet has their own 'photo' something.
Why Invitation: because people are people. I believe collectively we are better at assesing if somebody would interested in a posting-one-photograph-a-day until-until (which is why I aint stress those 'graphers that post once in a while, its an art-form afterall), than I could ever try and 'find photographers'.
This is also a business decision --- sustainable growth. I believe in ideas that grow and can sustain itself. The question is: how many of us would come back to 75 if we couldn't digest it: as in if there was 300 new photographs every 2 hours? What is the point of photography if people can't see it? (and what's the point of copying somebody else idea?)
I know I might be coming of as angry, I blame the lack of sleep (5 hours of sleep in 48 hours), but, I think every idea has it's own ways to attempt that illusive dream of 'making it work', and the '2 rules' I have here are to allow for that.
It won't please everybody, but with 6 billion people on the planet what can 24+6 year old boy from Alexandra Township do? I'll will stick to my guns through thick and thin.
I could have handled this in a 'PR' format, but I'm not that kind of person. Which begs the question, coz I got an email 'labeling' 75 as an "elitist club" --- huh?
I hope, this settles it --- anybody needs to know why such and such --- it is here.
*sips on coffee and goes through today's photography.
