We are in the process of forming a new photo club. Just as a way to grow our love for fotography and meet cool people along the way. See below an extract form the conept document. Please let me know if you would be keen to join!

Our Concept and Vision

“photography - an expression of individuality and an art form”

We aim to share with, and experience our member’s passion for photography as a personal expression of an art form, as we all experiment with the art of light.

Our goal is to stretch each photographer’s creativity through stimulating topics and committee challenges, and by providing opportunity for members to improve their skills and knowledge through workshops and practical application.

As you will note from our format the arrangement of club operations is “member friendly”. We already have members from as far afield as Canada and the United Kingdom joining our national and local members.

Club Format

-    Monthly meetings where we get together to discuss and evaluate our images, receive

-    Regular workshops to discuss and practically apply concepts and experiment in different genres

-   Submissions will be displayed electronically at the appropriate meeting at the discretion of the committee.

Competition

1. Name     Let us have your suggestion of a name for the club
2. Logo      Design a logo for the website and any other media we will use in the future

-   For those who can please combine your talents in letting us have your suggestion for both the name and logo.

Membership

                This is a photographic club for all – please invite family and friends to join us!

Eligibility

All photographers hoping to be creatively challenged, regardless of experience are welcome to a club where they feel encouraged at, have fun with the emphasis on stretching your imagination, creativity and ability, while you improve your photography. Members are actively encouraged to participate in the monthly topics, committee challenges, and those workshops and outings that they are able to attend.

Cost

-    R100.00 inclusive of annual membership fee and entrance the first meeting members attend.

-    R  50.00 per meeting attended thereafter.

-    Annual membership fee of R  50.00 payable by January 31 each year.

-    Fees for outings and workshops will be advised as arrangements with venues and models are finalised

-    Please note that in our attempt to minimise cash on hand we request that all payments be made to the bank account  detailed below. Where convenient EFT payments may be made in advance and the appropriate balances will be available to you at all times.

Topics

-    The initial topics will be prescribed by the committee but we will produce a list of suggested future topics with a view to encouraging particitation from all our members hoping to be creatively challenged.

-    Please communicate with us and suggest topics that you feel would be both stimulating and creatively interesting to club members

Submissions

-    There will be facility for those members attending the meeting to vote for best images in various categories at the meetings.

-    We are currently in the process of creating our website (see Competition) to showcase our images to all interested persons and to include all our members in the process of  identifying our best images

-    All submission must be made electronically to photoclubsubmissions@gmail.com or stuart@eshasha.co.za

-    Submission formatting and resolution parameters will follow shortly

Images may be submitted in any one of, or any combination of the following categories

-    Monthly topic – Colour

                & / or

-    Monthly topic – Mono

&

-    Monthly topic – Digitally Manipulated

& / or

-    “Open” topic –for those new members, or those who feel the desire to share one of their images that truly inspired them, or one that they simply HAVE to share. The object of the open topic is to encourage all members to participate every month. All submission must be made electronically to photoclubsubmissions@gmail.com or stuart@eshasha.co.za

In Brief : You may enter a maximum of 4 images for the club evening.  It can be 2 for the monthly topic, 1 in the digitally manipulated topic, and 1 open.

2.       Topic MUST be clearly indicated

3.       Technical details must please be included

a.       Camera

b.       Sensitivity - ISO

c.        Aperture - AV

d.       Shutter Speed

e.        White Balance

f.        Any other information you wish to share
